Memorable Day for Clear Mountain Fairview

Zaha youngster Sniplaz won on the March Magic Millions raceday at the Gold Coast earlier this year.

The Magic Millions Plate Raceday in Toowoomba last Friday was definitely a memorable one for the team at Clear Mountain Fairview.

The impressive Zaha youngster TOUGH LUCK (ex Gudwill) will head to the $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic over 1200 meters at the Gold Coast in January after she scored a resounding win in the $100,000 Magic Millions Toowoomba 2YO Plate over 1100 meters by three and three quarters of a length.

TOUGH LUCK led throughout and after being challenged by a Tycoon Ruler youngster in the straight, TYCOON CAT (ex La Catalina), she streaked clear late for a comprehensive victory.

TOUGH LUCK was sold by Clear Mountain Fairview at the new QTIS 600 Sale in the earlier part of this year to racing enthusiast Leigh Wanless.

The hammer was knocked down to Leigh at $9,000 for the filly and after this win alone, TOUGH LUCK collected an exploding purse of over $90,000 (which included $14,000 in QTIS bonuses).

Congratulations to owner Leigh and racing connections as well as Sunshine Coast trainer Robert Bradshaw on the impressive win. A job well done!

We wish you the best of luck when TOUGH LUCK lines up for the $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January. GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations to owners Bob & Maree Frappell on the achievement of TYCOON CAT, collecting the runners-up title in the $100,000 Magic Millions Toowoomba 2YO Plate.

Although being defeated by a filly that they bred and sold at the QTIS 600 Magic Millions Sale, they were ecstatic with the quinella finish.

TYCOON CAT was passed in at sales earlier this year, so he was taken home and was broken-in and educated by Mick Frappell and his riding team.

The Frappell’s again celebrated with part-owners Phil and Maree Gracie as TYCOON’S PRIDE (G3 Tycoon Ruler – Proud) saluted the judge in the last race on the card.

Being the little half brother of ZAHA’S PRIDE, the grey galloper had big shoes to fill and he did not disappoint connections as he pulled away from the field in the straight to record a four and one quarter length victory.

TYCOON’S PRIDE recorded his second consecutive win from only three career starts in this racing preparation alone.

Congratulations to all connections of TYCOON’S PRIDE and good luck for his next start!

SON OF ZAHA showed owners John and Gaye Harvey that he can perform and perform impressively as he kicked off the winning day with a mighty win of a one and one quarter length victory in the first race on the card over 2100 meters.

Local trainer Graham Banks had SON OF ZAHA (G5 Zaha – Ena’s Way) primed as the gentle giant collected his second consecutive win on the Toowoomba Cushion Track.

John & Gayle purchased SON OF ZAHA as a yearling and did not start him until he was late two-year-old due to his size.

Congratulations to all connections as it was a well deserved win after a lot of hard work and effort, seeking races over longer distances.

Good luck when your big boy lines up for his next race, we will be cheering him home!
