Jumbo Prince continued his terrific run for Toowoomba trainer Michael Nolan, winning the $85,000 2YO QTIS BOQ Finance Services over 1500m and collecting an impressive $56,500 in the process.

Jumbo Prince settled back in sixth position off the speed and was given a perfect run by apprentice jockey Ruby Ride to win with two and a half lengths to spare, easily holding off his opposition.

Jumbo Prince has now had three wins, two seconds and two thirds from his eight starts.

Trainer Michael Nolan has had certain races mapped out for the talented youngster including what’s in store over the next six months.

“He is a nice horse and we always planned to target these races late in the carnival,” trainer Michael Nolan said.

“Jumbo Prince will now race in a 1600m event in a fortnight and go for a spell,” Nolan said.

Jumbo Prince is then likely to come back for the summer races around Magic Millions time in Brisbane.

Ride said Jumbo Prince had been able to settle nearer the pace from his nice barrier.

“He was always travelling like a winner and had them covered a long way out,” she said.
