Clearly a Good Week

It was a great week for Clear Mountain Fairview mid-January as stallions Tycoon Ruler, Al Samer and Zaha all collected wins, adding to their impressive progeny record.

Tycoon Ruler…his progeny are impressive on the track.

They capped off their good run in Toowoomba on Saturday January 17, when Selfie (4G Tycoon Ruler-Majestic Image) charged home to win the Hannas Class 1 Handicap (1200m) by a whopping four and a half length margin.

Upstart Pride (G3 Tycoon Ruler-Proud) was just pipped at the post in the very last bound but redeemed his ‘green’ run when he put together a gutsy performance at Doomben on Saturday January 31 to finish second by three-quarters of a length in the QTIS 3YO Handicap (1110m).

Two races earlier, fellow Tycoon Ruler gelding, Thinkhesaurus, produced a remarkable run to collect city honours in the $65,000 One Metro Win Handicap (1110m) by one and a quarter lengths.

Debut runner, Will To Rule (G2 Tycoon Ruler-Gudwill) continued Tycoon Ruler’s tremendous night on January 17, when the juvenile was runner’s up in the Vanderfield QTIS two-year-old Maiden Plate over 1000 metres.

Other stud bred runners, Take a Guess (F3 Tycoon Ruler-What’s It Like) and Now Listen (G4 Outback Prince-La Zaha) placed third and fourth in the the Queensland Electrical Services Maiden Plate (1200m) in the same race.

Earlier that day, Zaha had a winner at the Sunshine Coast’s Summer Carnival when Allknight Saint took out the $65,000 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe BM 90 over 1600m.

That followed on from Tycoon Ruler filly, Celestial Goddess got the chocolates in the Mansell Bulk Haulage Maiden Plate (1000m) on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday January 11.

Just a day earlier, Tycoon Ruler also had a winning double at Clifford Park with American Spirit and Thinkhesaurus both saulting and Al Samer also celebrated a winning double with Cupcake Bribery at King Island and Glory Star at Selangor for the Benvin Stable.

That was backing up from Al Samer’s cracking Friday with another winning double across two countries, Exceptional Choice in Kranji and Samertha Heights at Cranbourne.

Al Samer’s success has also be seen in Queensland when Azzimato saluated at Rockhampton on Thursday January 15, in the $13,000 Hahn 3.5 BenchMark 65 Handicap over 1833 metres for owners Mrs J M Malcolm, Miss K L Malcolm, G Malcolm & S B McPhee.

It has been a busy start to 2015 and looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
